Muscat: Kairali Oman said in a statement that the LDF government led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has given due respect and recognition to the expat community by announcing a comprehensive relief package for expatriates in the budget.
The Minister of Finance, Dr. K.S. Budget presented by Thomas Isaac. The welfare pension has been increased to Rs 3,500 for those in the Gulf and Rs 3,000 for those returning home. Expatriate Welfare Fund will be developed. An amount of `100 crore has been set apart for the Pravasi Samagrahashva scheme. A list of expatriates returning to the scheme will be prepared. Plan for skill training for them. The budget also announces plans to provide assistance to those who want to go abroad again.
The budget gives great consideration to expatriate rehabilitation projects. The budget also announced the introduction of health insurance for expatriates and their families, as well as more efficient loan schemes for returning expats.
Kairali said in the statement that the budget envisages projects that are unparalleled for the overall development of Kerala and the welfare of the people along with the welfare of the expatriates.
