Travel terms; Center should end expatriate harassment: Orma

Dubai: The Central Government has demanded the repeal of the new rules on travel of expatriates to India. Sajeevan KV, Secretary, Orma, and Anwar Shahi, President, Orma, said that the Central Government’s requirement that everyone, including children arriving in India from today onwards, must take the RTPCR test and be re-tested at the airport when they arrive.

Foreigners pay around Rs 3,000 for a corona test 72 hours in advance. The ‘Orma’ officials also asked what is the point of paying Rs 1700 for a test when those who come with the test land at the airport in India.

‘Orma’ requested the Government of Kerala to release the NRIs from this harassment of the NRIs by exerting pressure on the Government of Kerala, which has always considered the problems of the NRIs sympathetically.

In a statement, Loka Kerala Sabha member and ‘Orma’ patron NK Kunjumuhammed said that all expatriates should be prepared to protest strongly against the Central Government’s harassment of expatriates.
