KUWAIT CITY: The Kerala Art Lovers’ Association (KALA) has called on the Central Government to reconsider its decision to allow PCRs to be tested at local airports at its own expense. Kerala Pravasi Kshemanidi Board Director N Ajith Kumar has written to the Chief Minister asking him to take necessary steps at the Center to make tests free in Kerala immediately.
Current returnees are those who travel the country of origin with a negative certificate after undergoing a 72-hour valid PCR test. The decision of the Central Government is a double blow to the expatriates who have lost their jobs, have not been able to earn income for months and are coming home for treatment. This order, which imposes additional costs on expatriates traveling with a Kovid negative certificate, is utter cruelty.
Kala Kuwait President Jyotish Cherian and General Secretary C.S. K. Noushad said in a press release.
